I have a thorough biography (more than you'd ever want to know about Lisa) on my school's website: http://www.tvhs.k12.vt.us/WMHS/Faculty/Brooks/html/about.html. You can contact me through my school email anytime: lbrooks@tvhs.k12.vt.us. I'm a 26 year veteran art teacher (K-12 for 22 of those) and this is how I came to use technology in my classroom. I had a computer in the art room in 1985 (one of those old boxy Macs with the separate 5" disk drive) and kept up with graphics software as much as I could. In 2002 I got my MAT from Marlboro College Gradcenter in Brattleboro, VT, the best career decision I've ever made. It expanded my horizons to teaching online (I teach for Virtual HS as well as CCV, Bennington College's MATSL program and Marlboro Gradcenter) as well as gave me a chance to focus on the mysteries of using technology to serve my educational content. Now my favorite courses are those I teach to teachers, which I do every summer in Wilmington and Brattleboro (grad credit through Marlboro College Grad Center and audit is also an option). These 3 grad credit, 1 week intensive courses are on how to use tech tools to support your curriculum content. Let me know if you are interested for next summer, just send an email of interest.
